1)
How should I mix Poly-Cut™
products?
Because Poly-Cut™
is more of a mixture than an
emulsification, it readily mixes with water. You can put water in Poly-Cut™
or Poly-Cut™
in water. In initial fill or
"make-up," put water in sump and add Poly-Cut™
until refractometer reads 1.5 to 2.5,
depending on machine.

2)
Can I mix Premier Poly-Cut™
and Poly-Cut™
together?
Yes, Premier Poly-Cut™
and Poly-Cut™
are compatible. The difference is
the amount of bactericide and fungicide.

3)
What is the refractomer for?
It is used to measure the mix ratio. Every
product refracts differently. You are measuring the solids in water. Poly-Cut™
refracts very sharply black and white.
As it becomes contaminated with tramp oil, the black will turn gray.

4)
What is the residue in the machine tool?
Poly-Cut™
will leave a light oily residue on
your machine that does not harden. As the fluid becomes
contaminated by way lube and/or tapping or threading oils, the residue may
become heavier.
5)
What is the residue in the machine sump?
The black residue in the bottom of the sump is
dirt and sulfur compounds from your way lube and threading compounds. We do not
recommend Mobil Vactra products to be used with Poly-Cut™
.

6)
How do I dispose of Premier Poly-Cut™
and is it considered a hazardous
waste?
Do not pour your used coolant directly into
storm or sanitary sewers. The used coolant will be contaminated from various
oils and metals.
For most smaller metalworking facilities, see our TIPS
on how to keep your fluid clean.
Use only reputable, licensed firms for disposal processes. Legally, the title
to waste remains with the generating company, not the hauler.
Evaporation, or incineration and chemical treatment to separate oil and fluid
concentrates from the water so that the water meets local sewer regulations may
be other options. Check with your local authorities.

7)
Can I use Premier Poly-Cut™
on magnesium?
No, using any water-soluble
cutting fluid on magnesium causes a high risk of fire.
8)
Why do I get foam in some machines?
If Premier Poly-Cut™
foams, check your concentration
with your refractometer. If it reads above 2.5, add water. If it still foams and
does not break up, put a glass jar over the nozzle and allow it to fill. If you
see air bubbles, you have an air leak in your line. Tighten all connections back
to the pump. If it still foams, contact us.

9)
In what types of machines can you use Premier Poly-Cut™?
You can use Premier Poly-Cut™
in any type of turning, milling,
drilling or grinding machine, in fact, any machine except center less grinders
and machines that must use straight cutting oil to lubricate the machine.

10)
What type of materials can you machine with Premier Poly-Cut™?
You can machine ferrous and nonferrous metals,
plastics, carbide, titanium, high nickel and high chrome stainless steel,
exotics such as Inconel ® and
Hastaloy ®, etc.

11)
Will Premier Poly-Cut™
work in spray mist systems?
Premier Poly-Cut™
works well in spray mist systems. It
does not fog or smoke and settles to the floor instead of rising to the ceiling.
Soluble oils will eventually clog mist lines but Premier Poly-Cut™
will actually clean them.
Always
use clean cutting fluid in your mist system. The mix ratio should be 30:1
with a refractomer reading of 1.5.

12)
Will Premier Poly-Cut™
affect the paint on my machines?
Premier Poly-Cut™
will remove lacquer and some urethane
paints. It will not affect enamel or epoxy paints. Most machine
tools are painted with enamel or epoxy paints.
13)
Can Premier Poly-Cut™ be mixed with other cutting fluids?
Premier Poly-Cut™ will mix with other
synthetics but we do not recommend mixing it with water-soluble oils. The
best way to covert your machines to a new cutting fluid is by changing one
machine at a time and spreading your existing fluid among your other machines.
